how the grinch stole tithing

The Victory Church people were tithing alot
But grumpy old Grinch – he did not
He hated tithing; and no one new why

 So the Grinch started thinking
He made up a plan
“I’ll stop them tithing; I know I can”

Before very long the people got busy
Running here; running there; made then feel dizzy
For most of Dec, it was hurry and scurry
From one mall to another; and from party to party (well not in 2020)

 They spent lots of money on gifts and on food
This made the Grinch happy cuz he understood
That tithing would just have to wait

 But little did he know that his plan did not work
The people were wise and faithful
‘No one was a jerk

 They made out a list before spending their money
Lo and behold God’s name was first
Well, this made the Grinch’s heart burst

 Then God spoke to him and said
“Listen to me; I love my people and they love me
They know exactly the real reason that we
Celebrate this Christmas season.”

They understand I made my list too
To each one I gave a gift;
And also to you His name in Jesus; my precious Son

 And Mr. Grinch, if you will trust and believe
And learn to love me; I will live in your
Heart and never depart

 Now the Grinch was so happy
He put on his shoes
He ran to tell everyone the good news!

 Merry Christmas everyone, love a lot, laugh a lot, and eat lots of ice cream!
