Standing on God's Word

The first time that I remember praying and standing on God’s word was when I was praying for my husband Morris. We were planning on getting married, we had been living together for 3 years and I had re-dedicated my life to the Lord. I knew that we could no longer live together but I also knew that I wouldn’t marry him unless he accepted Jesus as savior. We were living on my parent’s ranch in southern Alberta at the time. The laneway to the house was almost a mile long, so I would ride my bicycle up and back every day and pray for him. So, for a few months I rode and prayed for his salvation. I prayed and believed that God would move on his soul and the Lord did. I wasn’t going to take no for an answer, my faith was very strong as new Christian. The thought that Jesus wouldn’t answer my prayer was never in the equation. Romans 12:12, “Be happy in your confidence, be patient in trouble and pray continually...” II Corin 5:7, “For we live by believing and not by seeing”, Message translation says, “It’s what we trust in but don’t yet see that keeps us going...” I honestly can say that I trusted the Lord with my life and to bring everything together so Morris and I could be married and walk out the destiny that God had for us. I never thought that the Lord would someday call us into ministry. Ps 33 4 -5, “For the word of the Lord holds true, and we can trust everything he does. He loves whatever is just and good; the unfailing love of the Lord fills the earth. I can’t remember when the Lord gave me a prophetic voice; I think it came about by reading the scriptures out loud to Lord and prophesying over my own situations. I needed to hear it and to build myself up so I could see clearly and think about what the Lord was saying, to recognize that He was in control and begin to thank him for working things out. I believe one of the greatest things in prayer and prophesying is to come to the Lord with a thankful heart and begin to thank him in advance for what it he is going to do. One thing that I love to do when I’m praying is to ask the Lord for pictures, he gives me these pictures that correlate with the word. Then I describe the pictures in prayer out loud and prophesy the word of God over what the Lord has shown me.
