Easter
First came Christmas, then came valentines, and now we have Easter.
There’re eggs everywhere and chocolate too. Have you stopped to think why? You may be fed up with christians and talk of christianity but you must admit that Jesus permeates major holidays.
Spoiler alert: Easter is closely tied with Jesus. It’s really about a major life event of his… His death and…
Resurrection!
Something else to think about: how come holidays and seasons that bring joy and promote fellowship are ascribed to christianity? There must be something there right?
Now the eggs themselves are said to have originated from festivals celebrating spring and new life. Coincidentally, Easter for christians is all about new life and being reborn/born again.
I’m really here to layout thoughts but here’s some free advice:
I think this is the perfect time to reevaluate the year. And your life. The perfect time to be reborn and to find a positive fuel for your life. A period to think about death. Death is a topic avoided by many. I think it’s safe to think about sometimes. To think about someone dying for you. Can you imagine doing so for someone else?
Note: I hope you do not think about death as a symptom of depression and suicide, please seek help if this is where your thoughts take you.
In this context, death is the final call from God to come home because you’ve been a worthy ambassador and your work on earth is done.
Phil 1: 21
For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
This is the perfect time to introspect and rely on Jesus to make you realize your potential.
I suggest finding out for yourself about Easter, Jesus, new life, and how to be reborn. Just so this year is not another waste. You can certainly be more.
